The Staybridge Suites Thonglor is a pet friendly hotel in the heart of Thonglor. The location is excellent within 5 minutes walk of Thonglor BTS. As well as the hundreds of bars and restaurants Thonglor is famous for.
As a serviced residence it has many long term residents and therefore the rooms come with small kitchen and even a washing machine. We chose the most basic room type, which was compact and cosy but more than enough for a 4 night stay. We got a good rate booking direct with the hotel of 3,030 baht (approx US$82) per night including breakfast.

Pet Policy
There wasn’t really much of a pet policy enforced and we didn’t need to sign any document for any rules. Pets are allowed to stay in the room unattended which is a big plus for Staybridge. Of course, you need to make sure they don’t bark or cause a nuisance to the other guests when you are out. Otherwise I’m sure there would be a problem. There was at least 1 other dog on our floor so I think they may put those with dogs on the same floors to minimise any disruption to other guests as much as possible.
Dogs are allowed in the reception area and a pet friendly area on the 8th floor where you can take your dog to do their business. This area was all tiled, with a small piece of fake grass in the corner, so I wouldn’t have said it was the best dog friendly area. I much preferred to go down to the ground floor and walk around the hotel itself. It’s very safe with no soi dogs around so it was nicer to walk around outside here.

Dogs aren’t allowed in the restaurant and also aren’t allowed in the pool area on the 20th floor. This is fully understandable and common amongst most hotels.
Pet Fee
There is a pet fee of 500 baht per pet per night. As you all know I’m not a fan of pet fees, however I do understand that it’s unavoidable sometimes. They told me the fee is for the extra ‘deep cleaning’ required because of the pet. To me it doesn’t make sense to charge a cleaning fee per night, especially as I know I don’t make any mess or shed my hairs.
We stayed for 4 nights and paid 4 x 500 baht (2,000 baht in total). However, we would only be scheduled for 3 cleans. As it would already be done from the previous guest for our check in and there’s a good chance the previous guest won’t have had a dog. On top of that, the hotel policy is that room cleaning isn’t done on a weekend unless you specifically ask. In the end we only actually had 1 clean during the 4 night stay but paid extra for 4. So it’s not like the ‘deep cleaning’ is even essential. So to me it is basically them just charging the fee per night because they can.
It’s not a huge fee to pay, but when staying a few nights it does add up. I would prefer that they charged a one off deep cleaning fee for the entire stay. Or just say our policy is just to charge per night and that’s that.
Hotel & Facilities
The hotel itself is great. The location is perfect. The rooms are lovely, modern and clean. The restaurant for breakfast is lovely and the breakfast buffet is pretty decent, although heavily catered towards Asian appetites. The swimming pool is also lovely. Located on the 20th floor it has a lovely view over the city. It’s quite small with only a few sunbeds though and no umbrellas for shade so it’s not totally practical in the Bangkok sun!
Conclusion
I really loved my stay at Staybridge Suites Thonglor. The hotel was great, the rooms were great, the staff were lovely and the location was perfect. The benefit of being allowed to be left unattended is perfect. The only thing that let it down was the nightly pet fee. For me, this puts me off staying again, and would probably choose to stay at Oakwood Residence over Staybridge next time because of this.
Overall I would give Staybridge Suites 26/30;
Room quality : 5/5
Price per night : 5/5 (great value for money including breakfast)
Breakfast : 5/5 (both Western and Asian options available)
Pet friendly areas : 4/5 (the 8th floor terrace is a bit sparce with only a tiny piece of fake grass)
Pets allowed to be left unattended in the room : 5/5
Pet fee charged : Yes 500 baht per night : 2/5
