Secret Garden Samui is a 100% pet friendly bar/restaurant in Bangrak area of Samui. It also has some hotel rooms and a swimming pool although I forgot to ask if it would be possible to stay here too. I would think it would be possible since the restaurant is usually the least dog friendly place of a hotel. So if I was allowed here I am sure I would have been allowed to stay too.
Bangrak area is very popular with the islands expats. So when we came it was pretty busy despite the covid restrictions and no alcohol being sold.
We came for an early dinner so we could watch the sunset as were told the sunsets were beautiful here. We weren’t disappointed!
The Food
There is a large menu selection of both Thai and Western food to choose from. The pawrents were in different minds so went for a chicken schnitzel (199 baht / US$5.90), and a penang curry with rice (180 baht / US$5.30) with 2 soft drinks (55 baht each / US$1.65). The total bill came to 489 baht / US$14.50 which I felt was pretty good value given the setting.
The food was really tasty. I got to taste some of the rice as well as some of the schnitzel, and I approved of both. I didn’t get to taste the curry as it was too spicy for me but mammy said it was very yummy.

What I really liked about this place was that I was very much welcomed. The staff gave me some strokes and I was welcome to sit at the table with my parents rather than being stuck at their feet. This makes me really happy as I feel part of the meal. I was even able to lie down when I got a bit snoozy.
Secret Garden has plenty of special events from live music to all you can eat ribs nights. You can check their Facebook page to keep up to date with what’s going on. With covid restrictions it’s best to check directly to see if they have any events happening. I for sure will be coming back here when parties are allowed again.
Conclusion
I give Secret Garden 10/10. Great atmosphere, nice staff, good food and decent prices. All alongside the fact that I was very much welcomed and the beautiful setting. I will be back:)
