We took a drive to Pranburi Dam which is about 30 minutes outside Hua Hin. With most things closed due to covid restrictions there are limited places we can go. We had seen sign posts for it but couldn’t find much information about it online so we went to check it out.
I love being in the car. Whenever I can I will stick my head out of the window to catch all of the wind in my fur.
We took a couple of wrong turns as it looked like the entrance was closed but finally we got to the Dam. At the first bit there is a look out point where there were a few cars. You could see a small island in the Dam. It had some people on it that looked like they were fishing. It was a really nice look out point and very beautiful.
To the left of the lookout point there was a dirt track. It had a sign on it but it was all in Thai so wasn’t sure what it said. Hopefully it didn’t say do not enter as off we went! It was a long dirt track that took you around the Dam. Thankfully we had a Toyota Fortuner as it was a bit bumpy. I wouldn’t have liked to have done it in a small car.
Scenery
The drive was great, albeit a bit bumpy. There were lots of photo opportunities and the scenery was really beautiful. It seemed like there was some kind of farming going on in the area as everywhere was very well organised.
We kept looking on Google maps to see how far we had left to go. We didn’t realise how huge the place was. After about an hour of driving we began to get a bit nervous that there was only one way out! Thankfully we eventually came to an exit which took us onto the main road.
When we thought we had done most of the circle around the Dam, we realised we had only done one side of it! Unfortuantely we had somewhere else to be so couldn’t do the full loop.

It was definitely a nice drive with nice views. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to visit it as a tourist spot. However, it was nice scenery to spend a couple of hours of the day.
I will keep searching for more adventures to go on while most things are closed, so keep your eyes peeled. Don’t forget to check out my shop while you are here. Adios for now, woof woof Wylie x
