There are quite a few pet friendly places in Samui to go with your furry friends. Chaweng Lake is where you were most likely to spot me on my daily walks. It is a great place for exercise. Lots of people walk their dogs down here around sunset and it has a great vibe.
Beaches are also another popular place to go for walkies. You do have to be careful as there are a number of soi dogs roaming. Since covid, the number of soi dogs on the beach seems to have decreased since a lot of hotels and restaurants are closed. Therefore there’s no food around. I never had any issues in Samui but I have heard that others have had problems.
A number of beach bars and restaurants allow you to visit with your furry friends. I generally found that if you are friendly, most places would allow you to sit outside to eat and drink. We often just turned up somewhere and my pawrents asked if it was OK to sit. I don’t think I ever got turned away from anywhere. Some places have their own resident dogs. Some are friendly, others more territorial so again, just need to be a bit careful.

Chaweng Lake is my favourite place in Samui. There's so many doggos that walk down here so plenty of butts to sniff. I made many friends. There's also a great photographer that takes cool shots down here most days around sunset. The path goes 3/4 of the way round the lake, about 5km.

Public Beaches
There are so many great public beaches to run around on. You need to be super careful as there can be Soi dogs that come out from nowhere and claim their territory. During Covid it was a lot quieter on the beaches so we went a lot more.
My favourites are Chaweng Beach and Bang Por Beach.

Secret Garden is a great beachfront bar/restaurant in Bangrak. Famous for live music and all you can ribs nights as well as having stunning sunset views. Great for doggos, I even got my own seat at the table. Check out my full review on my blog.

French Bakery Chaweng is a go to favourite of mine for breakfast. Doggos are allowed to sit outside whilst the humans eat. Plenty of options from bacon and eggs, croissants and crepes. They also do sandwiches and salads for lunch. Closed on Wednesdays. Check out my full review here.

Think Retro Cafe is a cool beach bar/restaurant in Lipa Noi. Close to the Raja Ferry pier it's a convenient location for relaxing before or after your ferry journey. With beanbags to lounge around on and tasty Thai food to munch on, it's a great place to chill out. Check out my full review on my blog.

Lost is a popular beach bar in Choeng Mon. Hosts great events with famous island DJ Simon Solo. Perfect place for doggos to run on the beach whilst the pawrents relax with a cold beer or cocktail. Great happy hours and food promotions available.

Copper Eat & Art is a great cafe with a wide selection of food & drinks that's reasonably priced. Open 8am - 9pm Monday - Saturday. Dogs are allowed indoors but not in the AC section, they have their own resident pooches Rocky & Stella the Chihuahua's (who used to be my neighbours!) to play with. Check out my full review here.

Eva Cafe is a bit off the beaten track but a great place to hang out. There's a huge garden area to sniff at. The food and drinks are great too. A large range of smoothies, teas, delicious cakes. We didn't eat any main dishes but they also looked super yummy. Free water for me too is always a bonus.

The Mud is both a restaurant and hotel. With many rooms direct onto the beach it's a great place to run around as the beach is really quiet too. Amazing Thai food and they also offer cooking classes, although I couldn't participate. There is an onsite Chow Chow who is super cute.

Long Doo is tucked off one of the side streets on the way to Chaweng. They have the most amazing Kana Moo Krob (crispy pork with fried kale). Prices are on the high side for a local Thai place but the portions are huge and the food is amazing. There are a few cats so it's sometimes a big tough for me!

Starbucks Big C allows dogs to sit on the terrace outside. Perfect for those days when you just want something quick and can't decide where to go. Needing no introduction, it sells the same as pretty much every other Starbucks. I've seen plenty of other doggos here too so can be good for making friends.

Central Festival allows pets to walk around. It is an outdoor shopping mall with plenty of places to go. There is a designated pet area although it's pretty small. Each shop has it's own pet policy so not all allow dogs into the actual shops themselves. Check out my blog for more info.

Burger King Chaweng has an outdoor seating area that I have been to. At the moment Chaweng Beach road is like a ghost town so there's never anyone there which means all the space to myself. I was such a good boy I even got a crown and a sneaky couple of chips!

EasyKart is a go karting track in Chaweng next to the lake. We went here to meet a friend who had been racing. I was allowed to roam around freely, although it was empty. Only open on weekends during covid. It's a bit loud when the cars are racing though!

Kathy's Coffee is a popular hangout place not only for doggos but for those looking for somewhere nice to relax or work remotely overlooking the beach. They are attached to Wild Barefoot Restaurant that do great Indian curries. They have their own German Shepherd, which as you may recall are my arch nemesis!
Freezy Cow was a quick stop off on the hunt for ice cream. Amazing ice cream flavours to try and an outdoor seatign area where I could sit and enjoy any drips that fell off the pawrents cones. 135 baht for a cone with up to 2 flavours. Bigger cones were available at 185 baht each. I even got a big bowl of iced water from the friendly staff to slurp up.
