Here is my choice of pet friendly restaurants in Japan outside of Tokyo. These restaurants are in various towns when we are on our travels exploring other parts of Japan.
Nagatoro
Nagatoro is a great place to spend a couple of nights outside of Tokyo. Only a couple of hours drive from the city, it’s also accessible by train via Chichibu Station from Ikebukuro.
Cafe Iguana is a pet friendly Mexican restaurant in the Fukaya Honozono Premium Outlet Mall in Nagatoro. We’ve found that the Outlet Malls are very pet friendly and often have at least 1 restaurant that you can sit inside with your pet.
There’s a separate area if you are eating with your pet but it’s still indoors and a great area. You can also sit outside on the terrace if you prefer.
