Phuket, Krabi, Koh Lanta

Phuket, Krabi and Koh Lanta are all amazing places to visit for those looking for a nice beach getaway. I originally travelled to these areas during covid when the beaches were deserted and there were amazing deals to be had. More recently I did a roadtrip just to Phuket. Now beaches are busier and prices have gone up but there’s still plenty of great options to be had.

I always use hotels.com to book my hotels. For every 10 nights you book with them you get 1 free night. So it’s a nice way to get some freebies. You can use their pet friendly filter to see which hotels are pet friendly. However, it’s always wise to contact the hotel directly to check on their policies. Often they aren’t up to date on the booking platforms.

Phuket

The Mooring is the perfect pet friendly hotel in Panwa. Directly on the beach they have no restrictions for dogs and no pet fees for dogs under 20kg (300 baht fee for dogs over 20kg).

You can be with your furry friend in all areas of the hotel which is pawfect. Lovely modern rooms, affordable prices it's our number one choice of hotel in Phuket.

Coriacea is a boutique hotel in Mai Khao. Only a 10 minute drive from Phuket airport it's a great location if you have a late arrival or early morning flight. You can also watch the planes land and take off from the beach which is pretty cool!

500 baht pet fee is a bit steep but you are allowed at the pool area and the outdoor restaurant seating. Read my full review here.

Rustic & Blue Getaway is a small boutique hotel in Patong. Only a 10 minute walk from the (in)famous Bangla Road it's a good location for those wanting access to nightlife but not right in the middle of it.

There was no pet fee at all which was amazing and no restrictions for pets. They are even allowed in the restaurant so it was certainly 10/10 for being pet friendly! Read my full review here.
Pullman Panwa is more of a pets allowed hotel than a pet friendly one. A large chain hotel it's quite common to have a lot more restrictions than more boutique hotels.

High room rates, high pet fee and a lot of restrictions on where you can go with your furry friend. Not allowed to be left unattended in the room either. Not somewhere we would return.

You can read my full review here.
Selina Rawai is a supposed pet friendly hotel but when we turned up we were almost turned away as they don't accept big dogs. Apparently any dog over 5kg is a big dog. They eventually let us stay after getting permission from the general manager. But this left us with a bit of a bad taste.

I don't believe places that discriminate by size are actually pet friendly. So I wouldn't recommend this hotel. For my full review check here.
Cassia Phuket is approved by Amazing Paws Thailand as a great pet friendly destination. They do have a pet fee of 500 baht per night but they also have a lot of pet facilities in the hotel.

It looks more like apartment style living so would also be a great option for long term stays.

We haven't stayed here but would like to try on our next trip.

Krabi

Tha Lane Bay Villa Krabi This was a private villa in a complex of about 5 villas with it's own private pool. There were no extra charges for me and lots of places in the huge garden and beach to sniff. We got a very good covid deal so it was only 2,250 baht a night! We booked en route and thankfully they let me stay. A bit far from everything so definitely need a car.

Koh Lanta

El Pillax Hotel Koh Lanta We found this online and just turned up. Thankfully the owners live on site and allowed us to stay. We were the only customers that night. It's a lovely little hotel with bungalows right on the beach that had just opened before covid struck. No restrictions for doggos, and it was only 800 baht for the night, bonus!

Others

I have not stayed at any of the hotels below so don’t have personal experience. But I know they allow you to bring along your furbabies to stay. If you get to stay at one of them let me know in the comments below what you thought.

Ibis Hotels

Ibis Phuket Patong, Ibis Phuket Kata & Ibis Krabi Ao Nang as part of the Ibis group are all pet friendly hotels. They have no extra charges for any pet up to 10kg. Ibis hotels are almost always pet friendly. However, some of them don’t allow them to stay in the room unattended. So it’s best to check the policy in advance.

If Phuket, Krabi or Koh Lanta isn’t right for you, don’t forget to check out pet friendly hotels in Bangkok, Hua Hin or Koh Samui.
