Check out the list of pet friendly hotels in Hua Hin that I have researched. Hua Hin is the perfect getaway from Bangkok. Only a 3 hour drive, it makes the perfect place for a weekend away from Bangkok. Of course you will want to take your furry friend with you, so look no further than the below list. Take your pick of which suits you the most.
Are you looking for a hotel that allows your four legged friend full reign of the place and can be with you at all times? Or are you looking to splurge on a luxury hotel and stay in your room the whole time? Whatever your requirement, there is a hotel to suit your needs.
3 Star Pet Friendly Hotels Hua Hin
The 3 star hotels are generally the most pet friendly. Ibis are the only hotel with no additional fees. A couple allow you to bring your pet with you around the pool and at the restaurant. Although it’s important to check out full policies in advance. They do change, sometimes even after you have checked direct with the hotel as I experienced at Supatra!
Baan Kangmung is my favourite hotel in Hua Hin to stay at. They allow pets in selected room types at a covid rate of 1,600 baht per night (Bamboo House, Garden Villa & Deluxe Room on the first floor) and at 1,900 baht per night in the Beachfront Suite or Sea View Balcony. Discounts are given the longer you stay. An additional charge of 500 baht per night for dogs up to 10kg and 800 baht for dogs over 10kg up to a maximum 25kg, however, we only paid 300 baht per night as a special covid offer.
Veranda allows pets of all sizes to stay in the Premier Deluxe rooms with an extra fee of 500 baht up to 5kg and 1,000 baht over 10kg (not sure about 5-10kg!). They did recently have a special covid promotion waiving the pet fee but this has finished now, so maybe I'll see if they do this again before visiting.
Green Gallery allows pets in the 3 sea view rooms and 2 beach view rooms with an additional charge of 500 baht per night for dogs up to 10kg only. Dogs allowed everywhere other than the Gallery Zone and there's a fine of 2,000 baht if you don't pick up their poop. They also aren't allowed on the bed.
Nern Chalet has 2 buildings, one is pet friendly and the other allows in certain room types. There is a fee of 600 baht per night for dogs under 10kg and between 1,000 - 1,500 baht for dogs over 10kg. During covid, room rates start from around 2,250 baht per room per night.
Huaplee in Pranburi allows small dogs (but doesn't clarify size) for 500 baht per night and big dogs for 1,000 per night in the Pu Maa and Octopus rooms. They said special price can be given for stays of more than 2 nights. Rates start from 3,300 baht per night including breakfast.
Supatra told us they had no fees to stay overnight, but when we stayed they charged us 500 baht for the night for a dog under 10kg. Doggos are allowed at the pool side and at the restaurant as they are not allowed to be left unattended in the room at any time. They must also be kept on a lead at all times. Only place they are not allowed is in the pool itself, which is cool for me as I hate swimming! Check out my full review of my stay here on my blog.
Ibis is well known as a pet friendly hotel chain. There are no additional charges for your furry friend up to 10kg but that's where the positives end. I felt it was more a pets allowed rather than pet friendly and I would not stay here again. Pets were not allowed to stay in the room unattended, not allowed at the restaurant and not allowed at the pool area. So doesn't give humans an opportunity to utilise any of the hotel facilities. Check out my full review on my blog.
4 Star
All of the 4 star hotels ask for a nightly pet fee which does put me off staying at any of these.
Anantaslia allows pets in the Garden Building, Annex Building and Duplex Villa with private pool. There is a charge of 500 baht per night for dogs up to 10kg and 800 baht for dogs over 10kg. They are allowed in communal areas but not the pool area or the restaurant. Standard rooms start from just under 3,000 per night excluding breakfast. I did stay here and it was actually very good despite the pet fee! Check out my full review on my blog.

The Lapa allows dogs in the Lapa Cool Island rooms which are currenlty 2,590 baht per night or the Lapa Terrace Suite which is 3,240 baht per night. Extra dog fee of 500 baht per night up to 5kg and 800 baht between 6 - 15kg.
Peri Hotel has a dedicated pet friendly deluxe room that you can book and the pet fee is included in the room rate. This has a private garden area that the dog can do it's business in as they aren't allowed in the main common areas of the hotel. It does also have easy access to the beach so it's perfect. Covid price for this room type is 4,500 baht per night which is 1,800 baht more than the deluxe poolside rooms so this could be seen as the pet fee per night making it quite costly.
The Standard is a beachfront pet friendly hotel. You can stay in either a standard room or a villa so no restrictions on room type. They also give a pet bed, blanket and water bowl. However, that comes with a fee of 1,500 baht per night which is one of the higher pet fees and quickly adds up if you want to make a long holiday of it. 2 dogs up to 11kg each per room or 1 larger dog allowed.
5 Star
It seems the 5* hotels want to market as being friendly, but in reality the high fees and restrictions imposed don’t make it so attractive. I find these hotels are pets allowed rather than pet friendly options that want a gimmick for their marketing campaigns.
X2 Kui Buri a bit further South of Hua Hin, X2 is a quieter option perfect for relaxing with your furry friend. Pet fee is 1,000 baht per night up to 20kg and 2,000 baht per night for over 20kg. This does include a pet party box including treat, toy, towel and bowl. Although that doesn't explain why the fee is per night. There are extra fees if your dog causes any further mess or requires additional cleanign and a hefty fine if the dog goes in the pool. Must be kept in a crate if you leave the villa without them.
Hyatt Regency promotes itself as pet friendly, however, I don't really agree that it is. Pets are only able to stay in the Deluxe Room Category up to a maximum of 10kg. There is a daily charge of 1,000++ and they are only allowed to walk on one path to and from the beach, not in any of the commual areas. They are also not allowed to be left unattended in the room at any time which means you wouldn't be able to enjoy any of the facilities yourself which kind of defeats the object of staying at a hotel, doesn't it? When I asked the hotel to explain how the pawrents could enjoy the facilities they said you will have to use them one at a time, hmmm don't think I'll be going here any time soon. Definitely a pets allowed not a pet friendly hotel.
Avani+ offer a Bark & Breakfast package that allows you to stay with your furry friends up to 15kg. The package starts at 9,000 baht per night and is available only on the pool villas. There is a non refundable fee of 2,000 baht upon check in and then 1,000 baht per night after that. Additional charges will be payable if there is any damage or extra cleaning is required. For the fee you do get a pet set up including dog bed, bowl and treats as well as a daily meal, but I am super picky so wouldn't use any of these and feel it's a waste of money, more of a gimmick to justify the fees. There is a designated dog walking area but dogs aren't allowed in any of the common areas and not allowed to be left unattended at any time in the resort or the villa. Another pets allowed but not pet friendly option.
So Sofitel will soon be allowing pets to stay so another luxury option to the pet friendly hotels. However, it's only possible to stay in the 1 or 2 bedroom pool villas with a maximum of 1 dog per stay. A pet fee of 1,500 per night will be charged which includes a sleeping mat and one bowl of food per day so it does work out at quite an expensive option coupled with the higher room category requirement. Pets are only allowed at the Blue Bike Lane and not allowed to be left unattended at any time on the property or in the villa so, like Grand Hyatt it isn't really very appealing as the humans won't be able to enjoy any of the facilities at the hotel with the only option being to order room service.
Intercontinental is another 5 star hotel that restricts the room type for pets to it's most expensive categories, the Club Intercontinental Beach Villa and La Residence. These rooms start from 20,000 baht per night with an additional pet fee of 2,000 baht per night per pet which they say is for daily deep cleaning. Pets are not allowed in any of the public areas of the hotel.
V Villas is for those looking to splurge and not wanting to leave your villa. A pet charge of 4,000 baht per night is the highest of all the hotels I've come across. Your pet also isn't allowed to be left unattended anywhere on the property or in the villa so it's another hotel that doesn't say pet friendly to me. After spending all that money on the room and the pet fee, you're not going to want to leave the room in order to get your money's worth! I don't think this will be high on my list of hotels to try out unfortunately.
Don’t forget to check out other pet friendly hotels in Bangkok, Koh Samui, Phuket, Krabi & Koh Lanta for the perfect pawcation.
If any of my travel tips help, please feel free to leave a small donation which would be greatly appreciated 😊
