Bellerive is one of the few pet friendly hotels in Hoi An. Located about 15 minutes drive outside of the Old Town you might not be right in on all the action but it’s definitely worth staying here if you want a great experience with your pet.
We found it difficult to find a pet friendly hotel in Hoi An at first until we found Bellerive. At first, we weren’t so sure about their pet policy as it seemed quite strict. So we went along before booking to check it out. When we arrived we instantly felt happy we had found it. The hotel itself is really beautiful and situated on nice grounds with a nice modern, luxury feel. All of the staff immediately made us feel welcome. The hotel has 2 in house Pomeranian’s that are adored by all of the guests. They generally hang out at the reception area waiting for pets and strokes.

Pet Policy
When we first asked about the pet policy, it sounded quite strict, with very limited areas we could go together. However, in reality it was a very good policy once you knew the layout of the hotel. Pets are not allowed in the ‘restaurant’ but what that meant was the buffet dining area. However, next to the buffet section there was a separate section which was what we would also class as a full restaurant. In our opinion, it was a much better place to sit and eat anyway. They usually had the doors open so it was cool and breezy but it was indoors so dry from the rain. They had big comfy sofas, so we used to bring down a blanket and I’d sit on the sofas with the humans to eat.

Dogs are allowed to sit around the swimming pool also, although not allowed in the swimming pool itself (which is understandable). The grounds of the hotel are decent sized and we would usually take a walk around the perimeter. Dogs are allowed in all common areas as long as they are kept on a lead.

Whilst they were a little nervous about me staying in the room on my own without the humans, they asked them to confirm that I wouldn’t make any mess or make any noise. Of course I’m used to staying in hotels and I’m the good boy, so this wasn’t a problem. Once they knew I was well behaved they were fine with me staying in the room unattended.
The best thing is about this hotel, there are no pet fees! You all know how happy that makes me!
Dining
One big benefit is that breakfast was included in the nightly rate. The buffet breakfast was extensive and they even had boiled vegetables, boiled eggs, sweet potato, and boiled chicken. Basically everything I eat. So all my culinary needs were well and truly taken care of.

We also had daily afternoon tea included in our room rate. This is included every day for certain room categories. Available from 2pm – 5pm it included a juice, tea or coffee plus a selection of spring rolls, cakes and sandwiches. This was usually served as a set, but over the Christmas and New year period when it was busy, it was more of a help yourself style.

We ate a few times at the restaurant and each time the food was very good. Ingredients used were fresh and were all super tasty.
Room
We had 2 different room types as we stayed twice during our Hoi An trip. We first stayed in the executive room which had a bedroom with separate living & dining area. It also had a kitchen, although there weren’t any utensils to actually cook. This was a huge corner room with lovely views out over to the river and a huge bathtub in the corner.

On our second stay we decided to try the pool villa as the weather was warming up a bit. It was a 2 bedroom villa split over 2 floors. It was way more than what we needed. There was a private pool on the ground floor and a sun terrace on the top floor with the second bedroom. The 2 floors were connected with a staircase, but you had to go outside to go upstairs which was a bit strange. If we stayed again, we’d be more than happy in the executive room.
Conclusion
We had the most amazing time at Bellerive Hoi An. If we ever went to Hoi An again, this is the only place we would stay. It’s by far the best pet friendly hotel in Hoi An. The price was great, the staff were great, the pet policy was great and the food was great. It was so great we went back twice. I definitely recommend Bellerive as a pet friendly hotel in Hoi An. Although sadly, I don’t think we’d be going back to Hoi An any time soon with Wylie. We just didn’t really comfortable overall with him in Vietnam.
Woof woof, Wylie x
