Anantasila Hua Hin is a very pet friendly hotel. It’s located directly on the beach down next to Khao Takiab. It’s a fantastic stretch of beach which is very quiet but has plenty of bars and restaurants to go to as well.
Pet Policy
Upon check in you are given the pet rules, which are quite standard for most hotels. Dogs are allowed in the beach bar as well as the lobby and to walk through the hotel grounds. However, they aren’t allowed at the restaurant or the pool area. The great thing is that pets are allowed to be left unattended in the room. So if you want to use the pool or the restaurant you can.

By being allowed at the beach bar, this gives you great options. As this is where we were also able to have breakfast as well as some lovely meals. There were plenty of other dogs staying here at the same time too, so it’s definitely a popular option for dog owners. Mammy even asked for some scrambled eggs for me which I put in my own bowl. They were sooo yummy! The breakfast choice for humans was great too. It was a la carte, which they much prefer over a buffet, with plenty of choices to choose from.

I was also allowed on the beach area too. So there were plenty of pet friendly areas. I took my own towel which we put on the sunbeds so I could relax together with the humans. I had to keep my eye out for pesky soi dogs though. Whilst there were a couple around the beach, they generally just kept away and didn’t cause any problems.

Pet Fee
Unfortunately, what let’s Anantasila down for me was the pet fee charged. There is a charge of 500 baht per night for dogs up to 10kg, max 2 dogs per room. For dogs over 10kg, the charge is 800 baht per night, max 1 per room. Given the room only cost 2,800 per night for 2 humans including breakfast, it was almost an extra 20% to add me on. As stated many times, I really don’t agree with pet fees, especially not a nightly one. I’d much prefer they did a one off charge, if anything, for cleaning at the end, if needed. Especially as we didn’t get our room cleaned during our stay.
The Room
Dogs are only allowed to stay in certain room categories. Garden Rooms, rooms in the Annexe building and the private villas. This is because these rooms are away from the main building so can be easily made pet friendly. It’s great that there’s different areas. We stayed in a garden room. They even had a pet shower at the entrance so you could wash off any sand from the beach!
The rooms themselves were well kept and clean. I’d say they probably could do with a little bit of modernising, but I also think that’s the style of them too.

Conclusion
Overall I would give Anantasila 26/30;
Room quality : 4/5 (could do with a bit of updating)
Price per night : 5/5 (great value for money including breakfast)
Breakfast : 5/5 (a la carte with plenty of options)
Pet friendly areas : 5/5 (plenty of places to choose from)
Pets allowed to be left unattended in the room : 5/5
Pet fee charged : Yes 500 baht per night : 2/5
I’d definitely say Anantasila is the best pet friendly hotel I’ve stayed at so far in Hua Hin despite the nightly pet fee. However, there are also plenty of other pet friendly hotels which you can check out here.
Let’s see where I end up next. Woof woof, Wylie x
