Parks finally reopened in Bangkok on 14th June having been ordered closed on April 24th. That’s almost 2 months of no parks! It’s been really testing for a lot of people’s mental health having nowhere to go to walk or run. No one can really understand why they were closed at all let alone for so long. There doesn’t seem to be any records of people catching covid outdoors and you still have to wear a mask outdoors so seems a bit strange.
Whilst there’s not many parks that dogs are allowed, Nong Bon Lake Park is one that does. The first couple of days after it was announced parks were allowed to open, there were conflicting sotries of whether dogs could go back. So I waited until I knew for sure it was possible before we headed there again. For some reason some dogs were turned away in the first couple of days. I think the security were just being extra cautious to make sur ethey followed the rules.
Late Saturday evening it was announced that restaurants would be ordered closed for dine ins as of Monday. This was completely unexpected and we began to worry they may close the parks again. So when we woke up on Sunday we knew we had to go to the park to make use of it just in case.
Making New Friends

The park was pretty packed when we got there. There were so many doggos there it was like heaven for me. I think I saw every posisble breed of dog imaginable! You’ll never guess what, I even got to see another Westie, I was so happy!
Buakao is also 5 years old and he is so handsome. He was bigger than me which makes me happy as I always get called fat in Asia! His mamma said he was naughty and that I was a good boy, but she clearly doesn’t know me so well!
I love this park. There is so much to do. There is a bicycle track around the lake itself, although bicycles currently are still not allowed due to covid regulations. This doesn’t really make any sense but not much about a lot of decisions here do. It did make it a lot easier to walk around without bikes zooming past.
We chose to take the path that takes you down the middle of the lake which seemed to be the most popular route. Even though it was quite busy there was still so much space to be alone. Look at these pictures, there’s noone around!
I got to sniff in the bushes, tromp and the grass and splash in the water. What more could a doggo ask for?
Please Stay Open
I really love this park, and I really hope they don’t close it down again any time soon. I am so glad the parks are open in Bangkok now. Even though it’s a 20 minute taxi ride away, it’s definitely worth it to get a nice big walk. Can’t wait to go back already.
Don’t forget to visit my shop before you go. My Hawaiian shirts have a discout of £5 per shirt with discount code wylieshirt.
