Are dogs allowed on the bus in the UK? This is one of the big questions we had when we first arrived. Even though my pawrents are from the UK, neither could recall ever seeing a dog on a bus before. Maybe that’s because before they left they were pawrents so just didn’t notice.
The UK is actually very dog friendly and it is very much allowed to take your dog on the bus. In fact all public transport seems to be very pet friendly. This is very handy if you don’t have your own car or are on holiday or simply fancy a few drinks after a nice dog walk.
No tickets are required for dogs and there are no additional charges. Go North East states that each bus allows up to 2 dogs at a time although it is at the discretion of the driver. If the odg begins to cause a nuisance the driver can request you to get off the bus. However, as I am such a good boy I don’t think I would ever have this issue.
Each time I have travelled on the bus I was very much welcomed and got some nice pats and strokes from other passengers!

So in answer to our question are dogs allowed on the bus in the UK? The answer is a resounding yes! They are very much welcome. You can check out some pet friendly places that you may wish to go on the bus while you are here. I will be updating shortly on some other great places for walks in the area too.
