Lock Inn Fort Augustus is a dog friendly bar and restaurant perfectly situated right next to Loch Ness. We visited here a couple of times on our visit as we really enjoyed it. There is a restaurant located upstairs but we stayed downstairs both times next to the log fire.
The staff are really friendly and helpful. We had a good discussion with one bar man about various whiskies and he gave lots of good tips as we don’t really know that much about whiskey.
We didn’t get to try the food here we only ever stopped for drinks. But there was plenty of variety to choose from and the prices were pretty standard. We did see some other groups eating and the food did look pretty good.
The Loch Inn Fort Augustus gets top marks for being a pet friendly place. They allowed me in the whole area, no questions asked. Topped off with great friendly staff and a good range of drinks, what more could we ask for? I must have liked it if I went back more than once!
