Kimpton Kitalay Samui is the best pet friendly hotel in the whole of Koh Samui, Thailand. From the moment you enter to the moment you leave, you and your furry friends will be very well taken care of. On check in when the humans were given welcome drinks, I was given a welcome ice cream!
The room
When I got to my room it was set up with a super comfy bed, a box of cookies, a soft toy and a super comfy bed! As we flew from Bangkok we didn’t bring my bed so it was super nice to have a comfy bed to sleep on. We had a pool access room so we also had a nice balcony to sit out on and look into the swimming pool.

The room was lovely. It was really luxurious and everything a 5* hotel should be. It even had a free standing bath which his pretty unusual in Asian bathrooms.
Hotel Facilities
The room was so luxurious you never had to leave it. However, if you did, then the hotel facilities were also excellent. There was the huge common swimming pool that you see as soon as you walk into the hotel. Then there were 2 other smaller swimming pools which were for use for those guests who had the pool access rooms.
There was a pool bar plus a few different restaurants to eat at. We ate at the fish restaurant the first night and it was super tasty. It’s not actually so expensive either considering it’s a 5* hotel. We also enjoyed some cocktails by the pool in the afternoon which were also delicious.
At 6pm every evening they also have a happy hour which gives you unlimited free drinks and snacks. This was available free of charge! How amazing is that. Unfortunately we only found out about this on our last day! It included white & red wine and a special cocktail. The hotel manager and staff were there to ask any questions to and they were all so friendly.
The hotel manager has lovely sweet dog called Emma. We didn’t get on so well as I’ve got small dog syndrome so wanted to try and show her who was boss.
The best facility that the hotel had for me was a dedicated dog park. I’ve never seen this in any of the many hotels I’ve stayed at. It really shows that this hotel is completely dog friendly. What a great idea that has such a big impact on dog owners but is so simple to implement.

Pet Policy
There wasn’t really any pet policy here. All dogs are welcome regardless of size. They are allowed in all areas apart from indoors in the restaurants and on the tables and chairs which is understandable. Best of all there are no pet fees at all. You may argue that the hotel is expensive enough, but it’s definitely a pro for me that there are no extra charges. Everyone pays the same whether they have a dog or not.
Conclusion
Kimpton Kitalay Samui is by far the best friendly hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Granted it was also the most expensive. But you definitely get what you pay for. Dogs are very much part of the family here and other pet friendly hotels can certainly learn a lot from Kimpton. From no pet fees, to the facilities they offer, they win hands down. I certainly hope to stay at other Kimpton’s in the future.
If Kimpton doesn’t suit you, check out other pet friendly hotels in Koh Samui here. Or let me know if there are any others that you know of or have stayed at.
