Unfortunately Air Baltic have now changed their pet policy and their max limit is in line with most other airlines at 8kg 🙁 This really sucks as it was the biggest allowance I’ve seen in Europe. Previously they had allowed up to 12kg. The rest of their rules seems to have remained the same.
The size allowance for the container is also more relaxed than other airlines too. They state the carrier must not exceed 55 x 40 x 23 cm (118cm in total). Usually the limit is 115cm or even a lot smaller on airlines such as KLM.

- The box can contain a maximum of 2 pets as long as they are of the same kind;

Conclusion
The downside of Air Baltic is that the routes are pretty limited. Pretty much all flights are either to or from Riga.
I’d like to try them out and maybe I will later on my European trip. You can keep up to date with how my trip is going here.
