I recently spent 2 nights in the Loch Ness area exploring what it had to offer. We based ourselves in Fort Augustus at the Southern tip of the Loch. There are lots of activities to do in the area to keep you busy for a couple of days.
We arrived just before the sun was going down on the first day. We still managed to take a short stroll around the tip of the Loch and took a look out at how beautiful it was. As well as managing a quick stroll around the canal too. Other than that there wasn’t much to do other than to grab some dinner at Richmond Chinese (not dog friendly) and a couple of drinks at Lock Inn (very dog friendly).

On our full day in Fort Augustus after breakfast we decided to do the River Oich walk first of all. After a couple of hours completing the walk we headed back into Fort Augustus. We then bought tickets for the Loch Ness cruise. We had a bit of time to wait until the boat left at 2pm so we grabbed a quick drink at The Bothy (dog friendly).
The cruise lasted about 50 minutes for the round trip. It was pretty cool with nice scenery. It was a bit over priced for the experience in my opinion, but we did still have a good time.
We had dinner at The Bothy followed by a couple more drinks at The Lock Inn before heading back to our Air BnB. Check out was early at 10am the following day so we got up and checked out before heading for breakfast and heading to our next stop, Aviemore via Inverness.
I had a greta 2 nights stay in Loch Ness. Unfortunately there were no sightings of the Loch Ness Monster. The only monster there was meeeee!
Hope you enjoy my travels as much as I do. Until next time, woof woof, Wylie x
